## Description

Koko & The Gorilla Foundation is a renowned non-profit organization committed to the preservation, protection, and well-being of gorillas and other great apes. With a rich history dating back to 1976, their notable achievement is Project Koko, the longest interspecies communication study ever conducted, and the only one involving gorillas. As a 501(c)(3) corporation, they have transformed into a multifaceted institution that offers invaluable resources for great ape conservation, care, and understanding. Their mission revolves around conservation through communication with gorillas like Koko. By combining research, education, and optimal care, they have developed a winning strategy for conservation. The foundation's extensive programs encompass Education, Conservation, and Care, benefiting all great apes. For instance, their Education program encourages students worldwide to become responsible stewards of nature. Supported by a dedicated team, the foundation relies primarily on its membership base of over 40,000 donors and select private foundations for financial sustenance. Looking ahead, they aspire to expand their reach to the public, including children, zoos, sanctuaries, and African habitats where gorillas face constant threats of extinction. By donating or shopping from their website, individuals can actively contribute to their remarkable initiatives. Koko & The Gorilla Foundation truly appreciate the continued support of their compassionate community.
