## Description

The Kolkata Book Fair, organized by the Publishers & Booksellers Guild, is one of the country's premier forums for the book world. Founded in 1975, the Guild aims to promote reading habits among the people and support publishers and booksellers in their trade. Beyond its role in the book industry, the Guild also serves as a platform for smaller companies to have a collective voice and make a broader impact in society. Furthermore, the Guild recognizes its social obligations and strives to fulfill them within its limited resources. The International Kolkata Book Fair, organized by the Guild, is the largest book fair in terms of visitors and has been recognized by the International Publishers Association in Geneva. This annual event, commencing every January, attracts publishers from all over the country and abroad. Book lovers have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of books from around the world. Each year, a country is invited to be the Focal Theme, showcasing its literature and culture. The fair also hosts important seminars, symposia, lectures, and debates featuring leading speakers from all over the world.
