## Description

光明寺は西山浄土宗の総本山であり、京都府長岡京市に位置しています。1198年に法然上人の弟子、熊谷蓮生法師によって創立された光明寺は、宗祖法然上人の遺骨を納めた聖地として多くの信仰を集めています。この寺は、法然上人が「念仏三昧院」として認められたことから始まり、特に1228年、彼の石棺から放たれた光が念仏三昧院を照らした際に名を「光明寺」と改めました。

光明寺では、様々な行事や法話が行われるほか、参拝者向けの情報提供や御朱印の授与、永代合祀墓の提供なども行っています。また、紅葉の季節には特別な案内があり、多くの観光客が訪れます。光明寺は、信仰と学びの場として、浄土宗の教えを広める重要な役割を果たしています。
