## Description

Kongsvoll Botanical Mountain Garden is a historic alpine garden on the Dovrefjell plateau in Norway, located at 890 metres beside Kongsvold Fjeldstue. It offers visitors the opportunity to experience a broad range of Norwegian mountain flora in one place, with more than 250 recorded plant species. The area’s rich plant life was identified in 1756, and the garden was established by Thekla Resvoll in 1924, becoming an important part of the history of Norwegian mountain botany.

Open each summer from mid-June through August, the garden welcomes visitors free of charge and is signposted for access. Guided tours can be arranged by request. The garden’s website introduces its plants and provides information about the site’s history and visiting arrangements. Visitors can also learn more through a book about the garden, which marks its centenary in 2024 and recounts its story alongside a tour of the grounds. Kongsvoll Botanical Mountain Garden combines a distinctive high-altitude setting with botanical discovery and local heritage.
