## Description

KonKoop is an academic research network examining conflict and cooperation in Eastern Europe and neighbouring regions. Its full project, “Conflict and Cooperation in Eastern Europe: The Consequences of the Reconfiguration of Political, Economic, and Social Spaces since the End of the Cold War,” brings together six academic institutions across Germany and partners worldwide. The network studies political, economic and social change across Eastern Europe, Southeast Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, drawing on interdisciplinary research into topics such as nation building, ethnic and religious diversity, economic integration, environmental resources, security and conflict mediation.

KonKoop supports collaboration and knowledge sharing through research projects, publications, conferences, workshops and training for researchers. Its DataLab offers training and a blog, alongside catalogs and databases of conflict, cooperation and protest-event datasets. The VisLab focuses on critical cartography and the analysis and visualisation of peace and conflict, including an inventory of good practices. Through these activities, publications and events, KonKoop connects scholars and practitioners and makes research, data resources and analytical approaches accessible to its network and wider audiences.
