## Description

Pohjolan Krav Maga Itsepuolustusliitto ry (PKMI), also known internationally as the Nordic Krav Maga Association, is a nonprofit Finnish association founded in 1998. It is a full member of the European Krav Maga Federation and promotes the official Krav Maga system in Finland and other Nordic countries. The association supports member clubs and develops training for both civilian practitioners and professional organizations.

PKMI’s offerings include introductory, advanced and specialist courses at affiliated schools across Finland, as well as instructor training, camps and other domestic and international education. Civilian programs focus on practical self-defence, while closed courses for authorities and security professionals address appropriate use of force and close combat; military training is tailored to its intended context. Training covers threat awareness and avoidance, movement, strikes and defences, escapes from holds and chokes, responses to weapons, ground defence and the use of improvised objects. Courses also address stress management, proportional force and what to do after an incident.
