## Description

The Mystic Krewe of Amon-Ra is a New Orleans Mardi Gras organization rooted in Egyptian mythology and a long tradition of Gay Mardi Gras celebrations. Looking ahead to its 62nd year in 2026, the krewe brings its community together through parades, events, and celebrations. Its annual Queen and King Ball is a featured tradition, with the 61st ball honoring Edward Moreno and Gabriel Jones. The organization also shares its history, including a reflection on its legacy by charter member and Empress Mrs. Opal Masters.

Visitors can learn about Amon-Ra’s history, past balls and themes, and board of directors through the organization’s website, as well as browse a gallery and read the krewe blog. Those interested in taking part can find information about becoming a krewe member, while members can access profile and login services. The site also provides event details and payment options. The Mystic Krewe of Amon-Ra is a registered Louisiana 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, reflecting its formal nonprofit status alongside its community and cultural activities.
