## Description

The Kurdish Academy of Language (KAL) is a dedicated non-governmental organization, established in 1992, aimed at promoting the Kurdish language and its diverse writing systems. With a commitment to fostering an Open Global Kurdish Linguistic Network, KAL engages with linguistic and information technology experts to address the challenges faced by the Kurdish language, which has yet to be unified under a single orthographic system. KAL provides a platform for research and dialogue on various aspects of Kurdish, including grammar, lexicography, and literary traditions, while advocating for a standardized scripting system.

Their initiatives also focus on increasing the accessibility of the Kurdish language in digital spaces, thereby encouraging its usage in education, media, and daily communication among the Kurdish community across Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. KAL aspires to revitalize Kurdish language and culture, aiming to enhance literacy rates and promote a shared linguistic heritage for nearly 40 million Kurds worldwide. Through collaborative projects and public engagement, KAL strives to strengthen Kurdish identity and facilitate cultural exchange.
