## Description

Toimintakeskus Kurki is a Helsinki-based activity centre providing day and evening programmes for people who need special support, including people with intellectual or significant disabilities and people on the autism spectrum. Located in Kumpula, the centre offers structured activities outside the home designed to support health, wellbeing, engagement and quality of life. Services and goals are planned individually to reflect each client’s needs, abilities, functional capacity and strengths.

Activities take place in a safe, accessible and welcoming environment, with comfortable facilities and a large enclosed yard. The centre’s staff are social and healthcare professionals with expertise in group guidance and communication methods that support or supplement speech. Its programme includes daytime activities, a community group and a group for people requiring stronger support, alongside a monthly activity schedule. The centre is open on weekdays, with an additional evening session on Wednesdays; it is closed on weekends. To learn about services, view the monthly calendar or enquire about participation, visitors can contact the centre directly.
