## Description

Kvitfjellet Ski Club is a local organization that prepares and maintains cross-country ski trails at Sjøtun in Kattfjord, about 42 kilometres from Tromsø, on the route toward Sommarøy. It welcomes visitors to enjoy the sheltered landscape and outdoor activities of Sør-Kvaløya. The trail network includes a 3.3-kilometre illuminated loop, suitable for family outings, as well as routes extending to Sandhaugen and surrounding areas such as Finnkollen, Kvitfjellet, Bogdalen, Buvika and Bakkejord. The club shares trail maps, grooming and snow-condition updates, and information about activities and ski-race registration through its website. At Sandhaugen, visitors can use the club’s ski cabin, where they can light the stove, dry clothing and enjoy food they have brought; firewood is kept in an outbuilding. The club also organizes community gatherings, including seasonal food sales and trail-opening events. Through its work with local landowners and partners, Kvitfjellet Ski Club supports access to well-maintained trails and a welcoming place to ski.
