## Description

KVS Praha is a Prague water sports club founded in 1924, with a long-standing role in Czech canoeing and competitive sport. The club offers activities in sprint canoeing, dragon boating, children’s dragon boating and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). Its programme brings together athletes and water sports enthusiasts, and its website provides information for newcomers, club events, race schedules, facilities and the club’s history.

KVS Praha is also involved in organising and taking part in competitions. Its 2026 news highlights the Czech Short-Track Championships in Račice, which brought together 970 competitors from 47 clubs across 585 races. The club’s annual calendar includes the Dr. Karel Popel Memorial, an event that marks the start of the canoe racing season.

The club celebrates a distinguished sporting heritage, featuring Olympic champions and world and European champions among its notable representatives. These include canoeists Josef Dostál, Jan Brzák-Felix, Josef Holeček, Bohumil Kudrna and Marta Pavlisová-Kohoutová. Through training, competition and community events, KVS Praha connects generations of people with life on the water.
