## Description

Knights Experimental Rocketry (KXR) is the University of Central Florida’s official competitive rocketry team and a registered student organization. Based in Orlando, the team designs and builds experimental rockets and related systems for collegiate competitions, including airframes, propulsion, recovery, telemetry, and payloads. Its projects span two-stage rocketry, liquid bi-propellant rocketry, electric propulsion, and launch and test infrastructure. KXR also highlights high-power rocketry certifications and provides opportunities for students to take part in hands-on engineering work.

The organization’s mission is to cultivate enthusiasm for science, technology, and space exploration while helping students develop technical and leadership skills for professional careers. By making complex rocketry projects more accessible, KXR encourages students to explore STEM fields and build confidence through challenging design and construction experiences. The team welcomes student participation and offers ways for supporters to contribute, including donations and a shop. As a 509(a)(2) public charity, KXR combines competitive projects with educational development and a commitment to broadening access to aerospace experiences.
