## Description

IKO Kyokushinkaikan Finland represents the International Kyokushinkaikan Organization (IKO) in Finland through Suomen Kyokushin Karateliitto ry, the country’s IKO-affiliated Kyokushin karate federation. The organization says IKO was founded by Kyokushin’s founder, Sosai Masutatsu Oyama. Its official Finnish representative is Branch Chief Rebwar Sheikhi, and the federation also represents Finland internationally through its national team.

IKO Kyokushinkaikan Finland connects practitioners with local clubs and dojos across the country, including in Turku, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Satakunta and Viitasaari. Newcomers can enquire about trying the sport and joining regardless of age or previous experience. Clubs offer guided courses and regular training, with sessions and fees varying by location. Training and educational resources cover Kyokushin techniques and traditions, including kumite, jissen, kata, grading examinations, stances, tameshiwari, terminology and dojo principles.

The federation also shares news, club information and training schedules, and participates in events and competitions. Its activities include Nordic Cup, scheduled in Turku in September 2026. Seuratuotteet, or club products, are also listed among its offerings.
