## Description

Laanilan Monotanssit is a celebrated Finnish dance event with a tradition spanning more than 40 years. Held in Laanila, near Saariselkä, the dances bring together visitors and locals for live music, social dancing and a relaxed atmosphere during the autumn foliage season and spring skiing season. From September 2025, the event takes place at Mettäbaari, a trailside café formerly known as Huskybaari, which reopened in spring 2025.

Mettäbaari offers a distinctive setting, with a cosy traditional hut-style restaurant, a campfire shelter, terraces and a dance space created in an old stable, alongside the Monomesta dance floor. Visitors can enjoy food from the kitchen, including filled pancakes and soup, and drinks under a full alcohol licence. Karaoke is also available in the restaurant area. The seasonal programme features Finnish performers and dance bands, with events generally scheduled in the afternoon and occasional evening concerts. Located beside Saariselkä’s fitness trail, Mettäbaari can be reached on foot, by bicycle, skis or car.
