## Description

Labrador Friends of the South (LFS) is an incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and finding homes for homeless Labrador Retrievers in the southeastern United States. Run entirely by volunteers, the organization works to protect dogs affected by pet overpopulation and irresponsible ownership and help them find loving, permanent families. LFS receives no state or federal funding and relies on donations, fundraising events, and adoption fees to support its rescue work.

The organization offers adoption and fostering opportunities, with foster homes helping dogs socialize and prepare for placement. Its website features available Labs, adoption and foster information, updates on dogs’ new beginnings, events, and resources for supporters. People can also get involved through activities such as transporting dogs, helping at events, organizing, and marketing.

LFS operates an online shop offering items such as candles, soaps, clothing, magnets, and other merchandise, with proceeds supporting its work. The organization also provides ways to donate, sponsor its efforts, and shop through partner stores and wish lists.
