## Description

The Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council (LADDC) is a dedicated advocacy organization focused on enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities in Louisiana. Committed to promoting principles of independence, self-determination, productivity, integration, and inclusion, the Council envisions a comprehensive support system that empowers individuals to fully participate in community life. Through a mix of advocacy, capacity building, and systems change initiatives, the LADDC strives to create a coordinated and family-centered environment that supports the unique needs of individuals.

The LADDC operates through several specialized committees, including the Executive Committee, Self Determination/Community Inclusion Committee, Education/Employment Committee, and the Act 378 Sub-Committee, ensuring effective oversight and implementation of its Five Year Plan. By engaging with local communities and providing essential resources, such as the LaCAN Advocacy Network, the LADDC fosters awareness and encourages grassroots involvement. Their overarching mission is to facilitate a society that values and includes every individual, paving the way for meaningful opportunities in education, employment, and personal growth.
