## Description

Lahden Hapkido is a martial arts club in Lahti, Finland, representing the Kwan Nyom Hapkido style alongside the Finnish Hapkido Federation. Kwan Nyom, meaning “school of concepts,” is a modernized Korean self-defence art developed by Grandmaster Geoff J. Booth and taught internationally through the International Hapkido Alliance. Its training combines traditional techniques with practical, contemporary self-defence, emphasizing adaptable concepts that can be applied to different situations.

The club welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels, with no previous martial arts experience required. Training covers joint locks, controls, strikes, kicks, throws, sweeps, breakfalls, defence against weapons, sparring and grappling. Sessions also include strength, mobility and body-care exercises. Members develop fitness, confidence and the ability to respond under pressure, progressing at their own pace and focusing on their individual strengths.

Lahden Hapkido offers beginner courses, regular training and opportunities to try classes free of charge. Beginners can join at other times too, and the club encourages participation in camps and community activities.
