## Description

Lahden Ilmailukerho ry is a gliding club based at Lahti-Vesivehmaa Airport in Finland, welcoming people interested in learning to fly and taking part in club activities. Its flying season is most active from April to October, when members fly the club’s fleet of four gliders. The aircraft support a range of experience levels, from training flights in the two-seat Puchacz and single-seat Junior to longer cross-country and performance flying in the LS4 and LS8. The club also operates a PIK-27 aircraft for glider towing.

Members can pursue further training, including cross-country instruction with experienced glider pilots, and may work toward flights such as a 50-kilometre silver C task. Flying is supported by shared aircraft checks, maintenance and seasonal servicing, giving members opportunities to build practical knowledge alongside their piloting skills. The club’s airport facilities include a maintenance hangar, an aircraft shelter, meeting and accommodation spaces, and a sauna. Lahden Ilmailukerho combines aviation, hands-on participation and a social club community.
