## Description

The Louisiana Historical Association is a community of people united by an interest in the history of Louisiana. It promotes excellence in historical scholarship, teaching, and research, while encouraging the study and teaching of history more broadly. The Association also supports inclusion among people who practice history and advocates responsible stewardship of cultural resources.

A central way the Association shares research is through Louisiana History, its state historical journal. Readers can explore current issues and browse back issues, while prospective contributors can review submission guidelines. The Association offers several membership options, including a free trial that provides access to current and past journal issues. Members and visitors can also find historical resources such as the Dictionary of Louisiana Biography and online presentations.

The Association brings historians together through its annual meeting, with registration, program information, and calls for papers available online. Its activities also include awards and committees. Through publications, events, and educational resources, the Louisiana Historical Association supports the study and dissemination of knowledge about the state’s past.
