## Description

La Joyeuse Pépinière is an ornamental plant nursery founded in April 2020 by Baptiste Canevet and rooted in a strong commitment to living things and ecological values. Based in Sarrigné, France, it produces plants for parks and gardens, offering a collection of nearly 700 varieties, including trees, shrubs, perennials and conifers. The nursery’s growing methods are designed to avoid all pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, an uncommon approach in the sector. Responsible water use is also central to its work: a network of nearly 20,000 drip-irrigation lines covers almost all of its crops, with watering divided into managed sectors. To reduce summer water extraction from the groundwater supply, the nursery installed a reservoir of approximately 650 cubic metres to collect roof runoff; the project received co-financing from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. La Joyeuse Pépinière sells ornamental plants and shares its ecological and humanist commitments with its community. Following acts of vandalism in June 2025, it launched a solidarity fundraiser to support its continued activity.
