## Description

Lakes Area Shooting Sports is a member-supported nonprofit serving the Brainerd Lakes community from its 112-acre property in Nisswa, Minnesota. Founded in 1954 as the Lakeshore Conservation Club, the organization promotes safe, knowledgeable, and responsible firearms use and stewardship of natural resources. Its facilities welcome shooters of varied experience levels for recreation, leagues, education, and community events.

The club offers covered rifle target ranges at 25, 50, and 100 yards, plus a separate covered 25-yard handgun range. These ranges are for members and operate year-round during posted hours. Shotgun sports, open to members and the public during scheduled hours, include singles, doubles, and handicap trap, skeet, and 5-stand. Shooting supplies and protective equipment are available for purchase. The facilities are wheelchair accessible.

Lakes Area Shooting Sports also supports youth participation through partnerships with Brainerd, Pillager, and Central Lakes College trap teams, providing a structured setting for training and competition. Members and visitors can follow club news, league results, events, and range updates, volunteer, join by membership, or donate to support range improvements, youth teams, and safety education.
