## Description

La Luna Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization focused on expanding opportunity and representation in the nursing profession. The foundation provides targeted scholarships and mentorship to support its community and future nurses. Its work responds to the need for greater diversity in nursing and the nursing shortage, with particular attention to the low representation of Hispanic and Latino people in the field. The foundation cites California Board of Registered Nursing data indicating that Hispanic or Latino nurses account for 8.5 percent of the nursing workforce in Los Angeles County.

Through its scholarship and mentorship programs, La Luna Foundation aims to help aspiring nurses pursue their education and professional goals. The organization also invites community members to support its mission through donations. Its website shares news and event updates, including listings for community activities and special events. By combining educational support, mentorship, and fundraising, La Luna Foundation works to contribute to a more diverse nursing workforce and a stronger future for its community.
