Lamaveresearch

Lamaveresearch is a Filipino non-governmental organization dedicated to the conservation of marine megafauna in Southeast Asia. Their mission is to protect marine megafauna by investing in local communities, building ocean leaders, and providing science-based tools for sustainable marine resource management. Lamaveresearch believes that science, people, and knowledge are crucial in safeguarding the oceans and the species that inhabit them.

With a team of passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds, they work together to ensure a secure and prosperous ocean for marine life and people. Lamaveresearch's efforts began in 2010 as a marine mammal research expedition in the Bohol Sea, where they discovered that it was a hotspot for marine megafauna such as whale sharks, manta rays, and turtles. Over time, their research sites expanded across the country, collaborating with governments and communities in over 9 provinces in the Philippines.

Their work includes studying and conserving various species, conducting research projects, deploying satellite tags, and building acoustic networks for scientific research. By activating governments, communities, and the next generation with research-based solutions, Lamaveresearch aims to sustainably manage marine megafauna and their habitats, ensuring a healthy and thriving marine ecosystem in Southeast Asia
