## Description

Lambda Nordica is the premier peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal specializing in LGBTQ studies and is recognized as the oldest of its kind in the Nordic region. Established in 1989, the journal serves as a vital platform for interdisciplinary research related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer studies. Lambda Nordica publishes four issues annually, with a focus on fostering diverse scholarly contributions that challenge traditional notions of intimacy, kinship, and relationships within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Recent special issues, such as "Queering Intimacies, Families and Companionships," highlight innovative perspectives on queer dynamics, moving beyond conventional frameworks. The journal featuring contributions from researchers across Finland, Poland, and England explores topics such as non-monogamy, emotional support in family formation, and queer friendships, offering fresh insights into the multifaceted nature of queer life.

Lambda Nordica is committed to promoting knowledge in LGBTQ studies and is accessible to both academics and the wider community, making significant strides in understanding contemporary queer relationships.
