## Description

Lanark Lanimers is the organisation behind Lanimer Day, an annual community celebration in the Royal Burgh of Lanark, Scotland. The event’s traditions date back to 1140 and take place on the Thursday between 6 and 12 June. The website shares information about the festival’s history, programme, participants and organising groups, helping residents and visitors take part in and learn about this longstanding local celebration.

The highlight is a large procession, first held in 1892, with the first Lanimer Queen crowned the following year. Today, more than 1,000 people of all ages participate, accompanied by decorated “Lanimer Lorries” and pipe, silver and contemporary marching bands. The festivities offer entertainment throughout the day and are presented as an event for the whole family. The organisation’s website provides event listings, news, historical records, photographs and videos, as well as details about annual principals, the Lanimer Court and rider registration. It also introduces the Lanark Lanimer Committee and related groups, including the Lord Cornets’ Club and Lanimer Silver Club, and provides information about the Patrons Scheme.
