## Description

The Lymphoedema Association of South Africa (LAOSA) is a South African non-profit organization focused on advancing lymphoedema treatment, research and professional training. It works to improve access to comprehensive care across public and private healthcare sectors, while supporting consistent standards through a National Practice Register of qualified lymphoedema therapists. LAOSA also engages medical aids and other third-party payors to advocate for improved treatment reimbursement, and promotes research into lymphology, lymphoedema and related oedemas in the South African context.

The organization serves therapists, patients and corporate partners through information, professional connection and awareness initiatives. Therapists can join to receive updates on training and continuing professional development events, be listed for patient access, and collaborate with peers. Patients can access educational resources, free talks, information about treatment developments, a supportive community and a therapist-finding service. LAOSA invites corporate sponsors to help raise awareness and support treatment, research and education. Its website also provides contact details and a therapist search tool.
