## Description

La Pepa, formally the Agrupación Músico-Cultural de la Santa Vera-Cruz, is a musical association based in Alhaurín el Grande, Málaga. Founded in 1979, it gave its first performance on Saint Joseph’s Day in 1980, earning the popular name “La Pepa.” With more than four decades of history, the group is a prominent presence in Málaga’s processional music tradition and has accompanied important brotherhoods across Andalusia, as well as taking part in events of national and international significance.

Its musical offering combines cornets, drums and a concert band. In its full format, the ensemble can also include gastadores (ceremonial squad members), a mace bearer and banner bearers, and it may feature sections of keyed cornets. La Pepa maintains a broad repertoire suited to different performances, balancing tradition with musical development while preserving its distinctive style. Its work is guided by respect, learning, perseverance, brotherhood and a deep love of cofrade music.
