## Description

Laran is an independent, nonpartisan cultural association that helps political decision-makers, government officials, public institutions, and businesses make informed choices in defence, security, international relations, and energy. Founded in 2018 after the idea emerged in 2016, it was created to address a gap in reliable information and cultural understanding in Italy. Drawing on its founders’ experience in Parliament and in analysis of defence and international relations, Laran supports informed engagement with current developments and emerging trends. Its work includes research and analysis, consultancy, relationship-building among relevant stakeholders, and specialised training programmes. The association focuses on defence and national and international security, military affairs, civil protection, cyber defence and security, geopolitics, international relations, military policy, the defence industry, energy and resources, and organisational development. Its aim is to provide decision-makers in public and private sectors with the knowledge and connections needed to assess complex issues, including international and security policy and the procurement of weapons systems.
