## Description

L’Arche Long Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating inclusive communities where people with and without intellectual disabilities build relationships as friends and equals. Based in Riverhead, New York, it operates integrated homes for adults with intellectual disabilities, bringing residents, known as Core Members, and live-in Assistants together in shared household life. The organization aims to provide residents with safe, personalized care, opportunities to pursue their interests, and a home where their individual gifts are valued. Its services include personalized healthcare and support from trained, certified direct support professionals who receive ongoing professional development. L’Arche Long Island also encourages community participation through welcoming visitors, hosting events, and partnering with local organizations. With two established community homes and plans for more, it seeks to help people build fulfilling lives and foster a wider culture of belonging. People can learn about living in a home, working as an Assistant, volunteering, attending events, or supporting the mission through donations and legacy giving.
