## Description

The Lead Abatement Resource Center Foundation (LARC Foundation) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating elevated blood lead levels in children. Based in Chicago, it works to prevent childhood lead poisoning through education, advocacy, research, and cooperative partnerships with community groups, government agencies, businesses, and individuals.

LARC provides information about environmental lead sources, how exposure occurs, and the health effects of lead poisoning, including the cognitive and lifelong physical and mental health challenges it can cause. Its resources also address the social costs of lead exposure, prevention methods, available technologies and vendors, potential remedies, and ongoing research. The foundation’s framework connects public health, healthcare, and environmental concerns, helping families and communities find resources for testing, evaluation, care, and, when necessary, remediation.

Through awareness campaigns focused on communities at risk, educational materials, news, and public events such as webinars, LARC aims to empower people to recognize and address lead hazards. Its mission is to end childhood lead poisoning through informed action and effective solutions.
