## Description

Leysin American School (LAS) is an international boarding school in Leysin, Switzerland, serving students in grades 7–12. Set in the Swiss Alps, it brings together about 280 students representing more than 50 nationalities in a close-knit residential community where students and faculty live and learn side by side. LAS describes its mission as developing innovative, compassionate, and responsible citizens of the world.

The school offers a flexible, student-centered academic program, including the International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), English language acquisition, and learning support. Students can shape core and elective courses around their interests and extend classroom learning through hands-on, experiential, and entrepreneurial initiatives such as Changemakers and the ICE Initiative. Leadership opportunities, outdoor programs, skiing and snowboarding, after-school activities, travel, and cultural experiences complement academic study.

LAS also provides university advising to help students identify suitable higher-education pathways, alongside residential life, health and wellness resources, and community events. Its alpine setting and access to European destinations are integrated into students’ learning and everyday school life.
