## Description

Kymenlaakson keskussairaalan lastenosastojen tuki ry is a Finnish association dedicated to supporting children’s units in the Kymenlaakso wellbeing services county. Its work aims to improve young patients’ care, treatment conditions, rehabilitation and development, while bringing comfort and enjoyment to children during hospital stays. In cooperation with the hospital and regional wellbeing services, the association uses donations to purchase medical equipment and supplies for children’s wards. It also provides toys, books, televisions and other entertainment, and periodically arranges visits with Sairaalaklovnit ry to brighten patients’ days.

The association supports parents by sharing information related to childhood illnesses and offering emotional encouragement. It also contributes to staff training and research concerning children’s health. Individuals, businesses, associations and other eligible organisations can support its work through donations or membership; members’ annual fees are added to the association’s donation funds. Since 1993, the organisation has raised more than one million euros for children’s wards. It shares news, fundraising projects and information about its activities with members and supporters.
