## Description

The Death & Resurrection Doula Training Program is a Christian end-of-life doula community founded by Laurel Nicholson, a practitioner and theologian. Rooted in the gospel, the ministry forms Christians to accompany people who are dying with compassion and resurrection hope. It describes an end-of-life doula as a trained lay companion who offers non-medical presence and support to individuals and families in life’s final season, working alongside—not replacing—pastors, hospice teams, and medical professionals.

Its training program combines Scripture, theology, pastoral care, and non-medical comfort practices to prepare participants to serve with wisdom and confidence. The ministry also supports professional collaboration and volunteer formation, helping people explore different ways to accompany the dying. Additional resources include a podcast, e-books, caregiving materials, and a community fellowship that meets weekly. Through its teaching and resources, the organization emphasizes Christ’s victory over death and the promise of bodily resurrection, offering a faith-centered approach to compassionate end-of-life companionship.
