## Description

LaVale Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization serving LaVale and surrounding communities in Allegany County, Maryland. Founded in 1969, the volunteer-based squad provides emergency medical care around the clock, every day of the year. Its services include Advanced Life Support ambulance response, supported by two ALS ambulances and a BLS chase vehicle. The squad also offers CPR, AED, BLS, and First Aid certification classes as an HSI Authorized Training Center.

LaVale Volunteer Rescue Squad welcomes new volunteers and provides free EMT training, alongside opportunities to serve with a supportive crew. It also hires full-time and part-time ALS and BLS clinicians, with consistent, non-rotating schedules. Community members can support its work through donations, which help maintain equipment, provide training, and keep ambulances ready. The organization also runs a weekly 50/50 raffle; raffle ticket purchases are not tax-deductible. With more than 55 years of community service, the squad continues to provide essential emergency care and invite local residents to get involved.
