## Description

Layer Zero is a student-led cybersecurity organization at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), dedicated to helping students and the wider community build practical security skills and stay digitally resilient. Open to people of all experience levels, the organization welcomes anyone curious about cybersecurity, with no prior experience required.

Throughout the semester, Layer Zero offers hands-on workshops in areas such as penetration testing, reverse engineering, digital forensics, and web security. Members can take part in team competitions, including the National Cyber League and NCAE Cybergames, and practice through platforms such as Hack The Box and TryHackMe. The organization also supports study groups and resources for industry certifications, including CompTIA Security+ and CySA+.

Beyond technical training, Layer Zero hosts guest speakers, social events, and conferences, and encourages members to collaborate on open-source security tools, lab environments, and portfolio-building projects. Its community service includes digital literacy outreach and cybersecurity awareness activities in the Las Vegas area.
