Additionally, the district has sixth-grade-only campuses that focus on the needs of pre-adolescents, facilitating a seamless transition to secondary schools. Recognized for academic and financial excellence, Lamar CISD has received accolades such as HEB Excellence in Education Large District winner, National Principals of the Year, and Gates Millennium Scholars. Moreover, the district has successfully passed four bond referendums while maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in the Houston area.
