LCYC, or Legal Counsel for Youth and Children, is a dedicated organization that provides holistic legal advocacy for young people. With a rich history that dates back to its incorporation on May 25, 2010, LCYC has been committed to supporting and empowering youth by addressing a wide range of legal issues. What sets LCYC apart is its comprehensive approach to legal advocacy, encompassing child welfare, juvenile court, youth homelessness, youth and family immigration, and more.

LCYC goes beyond traditional public defense by meeting all of the youth's civil legal needs, including education, housing, immigration, and public benefits. LCYC's program supporting immigrant youth and families is particularly impressive. They offer direct advocacy and an educational component, including the development of a Safety Plan for parents at risk of deportation.

Additionally, LCYC collaborates with community partners and schools, working closely with organizations like Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, Kids In Need of Defense, Street Youth Legal Advocates of Washington, and YouthCare. Through strong community partnerships and direct legal advocacy, LCYC strives to protect the interests and safety of young people, promoting systemic change. LCYC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is recognized by the IRS and the Washington State Charity Solicitations Program.
