## Description

The Digitale Neuedition des Minnesangs und der Sangspruchdichtung des deutschen Mittelalters is an innovative project dedicated to revitalizing German lyrical poetry from the 12th and 13th centuries. This digital initiative offers a freely accessible online edition of medieval lyrical texts, bringing together Leiche, Minnelieder, and Sangsprüche in a cohesive and contemporary format. By providing digital images and transcriptions of original manuscripts, the edition enhances research accessibility and fidelity to historical sources, addressing long-standing demands for closer adherence to original texts. Currently, the extensive database houses over 8,600 strophes from 81 manuscripts, making it a vital resource for scholars and enthusiasts of medieval literature. Notable contributors to this literary period include figures such as Der Marner, Hadlaub, and Heinrich von Sax. The project aims to transcend the limitations of outdated publications, ensuring that these invaluable works of high medieval literature are readily available and user-friendly for all.
