Leapmotor (零跑汽车, Língpǎo Qìchē) is a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer founded in December 2015 in Hangzhou by Zhu Jiangming and Fu Liquan — co-founders of surveillance technology giant Dahua Technology — with the brand officially launched in March 2017 and first vehicle sales beginning in 2019. One of China's fastest growing pure-play new energy vehicle startups, Leapmotor differentiates itself through a unique full-suite vertical integration model, developing core EV technologies including battery systems, motors, electronics, and intelligent driving in-house. In November 2023, Stellantis acquired a 20% stake for €1.5 billion and the two companies formed Leapmotor International — a 51/49 Stellantis-led joint venture with exclusive rights to manufacture, export, and sell Leapmotor vehicles outside Greater China. Leapmotor International launched in Europe in September 2024 across nine countries with the C10 compact crossover SUV and T03 small electric car, with global expansion into Asia-Pacific, Middle East & Africa, and South America planned from Q4 2026.
