## Description

LEAP is a communications hub and data repository supporting investigators who develop long-acting and extended-release (LA/ER) treatments for HIV, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis. Its mission is to identify knowledge gaps and barriers affecting drugs and delivery platforms, helping prioritize research and address limitations in available products. LEAP also develops predictive strategies for determining desirable pharmacologic properties, with particular attention to tuberculosis and viral hepatitis, which overlap with the HIV epidemic and could benefit substantially from improved LA/ER medicines and formulations.

A key service is its Modeling and Simulation Core, which provides physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and simulation of drug concentrations. This work can help researchers select doses, regimens, and formulations during preclinical and clinical development. LEAP also gives researchers centralized access to scholarly materials, data, publications, and conference proceedings documenting progress in laboratory and clinical research.
