## Description

Girls Make Games, created by LearnDistrict Inc., is an educational media company that aims to empower and educate its audience through meaningful video games and experiences. Founded in 2013, LearnDistrict recognized the power of gaming as a teaching tool and wanted to break the stigma surrounding educational games. Girls Make Games is a program specifically designed to inspire and educate young women about careers and opportunities in the video games industry. The founders, Laila Shabir and Ish Syed, noticed the lack of women in the industry and sought to bridge the gap through their program. With a dedicated team of professionals, Girls Make Games offers a variety of programs such as summer camps, fellowships, and design contests. They also publish and develop their own titles, aiming to change the game by merging fun gameplay with real-world knowledge. Through their work, Girls Make Games seeks to create a world where education and entertainment intersect, providing students with engaging learning experiences that resonate with their generation's need for kinetic stimulation.
