## Description

Le Chœur du Sud is a French amateur choir organization founded in 2006 by choir director Frank Castellano. Described as Europe’s largest amateur choir, it brings together more than 10,000 singers across 138 schools, led by 53 choir directors. Its mission is to unite people through music, shared enthusiasm, and a varied repertoire in a friendly, welcoming environment. The organization invites singers of all levels to join, with no audition and no pressure, and offers singing classes close to home. Its choirs operate in numerous towns and cities across France, with a presence also indicated in Belgium. Members can explore different vocal parts, including soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone. The Chœur du Sud also presents concerts and events, including gospel projects, and highlights collaborations with performers such as Patrick Fiori, Jenifer, Ycare, Joyce Jonathan, Julie Zenatti, and Soprano. Its website provides information for prospective choristers and choir leaders, along with news, event details, a shop, and dedicated online spaces for members and directors.
