Carnavalsvereniging de Leertrekkers is a carnival association that brings people together to celebrate the carnival season in Stokkum. Its website serves as a central source of information for members, carnival-goers and anyone interested in local festivities, with news, an event calendar, photographs and details about the association’s activities. Visitors can also explore sections dedicated to youth and “Het gevolg,” and read the association’s carnival newspaper, Vasteleer. Those wishing to join the waiting list can register through the contact page.

The Leertrekkers’ 2026 celebrations include “Wi-j beginne vas,” a carnival event scheduled for Saturday, 7 February, described as a carnival ball for enthusiasts. The association also shares its carnival programme under the theme “Wi-j hange de beest uut!” Recent news includes the presentation of Wouter Besselink as the new prince of the Leertrekkers, with the motto “Lèès.” Through its events, publications and online updates, the association helps sustain and share Stokkum’s carnival traditions.
