## Description

Leetebrok e.V. is a volunteer-led festival and community support association serving Lichtenbroich, a district of Düsseldorf. Founded on December 2, 1992, the organization works to enrich local cultural life, strengthen connections among residents, and support youth and senior activities as well as neighbors facing hardship. Its community programs are funded through donations and proceeds from events.

The association’s best-known activities are its annual “Tanz in den Mai” celebration on April 30 and Maifest on May 1, which includes a flea market. It also refers to a Mai- and Mondfest, bringing residents together for seasonal festivities. These events rely on volunteers for setup and cleanup, food and drink service, flea-market coordination, and organizational tasks.

Leetebrok’s events build on a tradition of neighborhood gatherings, including the district’s 800th-anniversary celebration in 1993. Revenue has helped fund kindergarten materials, a youth club, a school garden, and outings for seniors. Through local celebrations and practical support, the association promotes community spirit and mutual aid.
