## Description

The d12n Research Cluster at Leiden University is an innovative group of scholars affiliated with the CADS Institute, specializing in the complex interplay between digitalization and cultural, societal, and academic practices. Our mission centers around fostering inquiry into the ongoing transformation driven by digital technologies, emphasizing both the challenges and opportunities they present. The cluster not only connects researchers within the CADS Institute but also collaborates with global experts and practitioners to enhance the understanding and impact of digital infrastructures and cultural forms.

Our projects range from practical applications like D//F (What Comes After FOSS?) and web-based tools such as Croodle and HedgeDoc, to broader explorations of digitalization impacts through platforms like Jitsi Meet and Etherpad. By examining these processes, we aim to develop systems that are fair, socially just, and culturally sensitive, demonstrating our commitment to using social scientific knowledge to inform and improve digital initiatives. The d12n Research Cluster represents a dynamic intersection of theory and practice in the digital age.
