## Description

Leidmedien.de is a platform that delves into the concept of inclusion, exploring its origins, meanings, and common misconceptions. Inclusion, derived from the Latin term "Enthaltensein," was declared a human right for individuals with disabilities under the UN Disability Rights Convention in 2008. This principle focuses on enabling all individuals to autonomously participate in societal activities, without the need for integration. Leidmedien.de emphasizes that true inclusion requires adapting environments to accommodate diverse needs, rather than assimilating individuals into existing structures.

In Germany, the discussion around inclusion primarily centers on education, with the emergence of inclusive schools that provide integrated learning environments for both disabled and non-disabled students. Despite advancements, Germany lags in implementing this inclusive educational model compared to other European countries. Leidmedien.de challenges common misconceptions, clarifying that inclusion transcends mere integration and entails tailored support to facilitate the participation of individuals with varying abilities. Join Leidmedien.de in exploring the transformative potential of true inclusion.
