## Description

Lesley A. Diehl is an author of mystery fiction featuring resourceful women who become amateur sleuths in rural communities. Her stories range from the swamps and pastures of rural Florida to the mountains and river valleys of upstate New York, where close-knit settings and nature-rich landscapes provide the backdrop for crime and investigation. Her work includes the Eve Appel mysteries and Big Lake Mystery series, set in the South, as well as the Microbrewing series, the Laura Murphy mysteries, and the standalone mystery Angel Sleuth, set in the North. Diehl also writes short stories and novellas set in both regions.

Many of her protagonists seek a life shaped by hard work and rustic pleasures, but find that murder and violence can reach even seemingly quiet places. In Claws for Concern, senior sleuth Maddie Sparks investigates after her defense-attorney son is accused of murder and disappears. Readers can find Diehl’s books through retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Bookshop. Her website provides information about her publications, stories, and author activities.
