## Description

Les Moussaillons de l’Aiguillon is a volunteer-run fishing school established in 2019 for children living around the Arcachon Basin in France. Its aim is to make learning enjoyable while introducing young participants to recreational fishing and helping them understand and respect local marine ecosystems. Activities include shore fishing, boat fishing, line fishing and net fishing, on the Arcachon Basin and Lake Cazaux. The association promotes sustainable management of these environments and encourages knowledge to be shared across generations. Alongside adult volunteers, the school draws on the experience of maritime professionals and experts. It is affiliated with the French Federation of Sea Anglers (FFPM). Its school boat, P’tit Mousse, gives children a setting in which to practise fishing; the association is also pursuing an ecological transition project to replace its motorisation with two electric pods and batteries, with work planned to begin in November 2026 and relaunch expected in early 2027. The organisation shares news, activity reports, photographs and information about participation and volunteering through its website.
