## Description

LFB is a nationwide Dutch advocacy organisation run by and for people with intellectual disabilities. It works to strengthen their voices and advance their interests by engaging with policymakers and politicians, sharing accessible information, and creating opportunities for people to take part in decisions that affect them. Its approach centres on lived experience, personal strengths and self-determination.

LFB trains people with disabilities to become experts by experience, helping them develop their talents and contribute advice to organisations. Its services include workshops, training, consultancy and projects, as well as meetings and activities delivered through regional locations across the Netherlands. National initiatives focus on education, skills development, accessible technology, local government and the rights of clients receiving care. LFB also provides resources such as a guide to client rights, practical advice on using clear language, and educational materials and films. Through its projects, events and regional network, the organisation encourages inclusion, accessibility and greater independence.
