## Description

Landssamband hestamannafélaga (LH), Iceland’s national association of horse-riding clubs, supports and develops Icelandic equestrian sport and riding culture. With a focus on sport, culture and lifestyle, it connects local clubs and members across the country; its website lists 40 horse clubs and 13,697 members. LH works across both competitive and recreational riding, helping coordinate activities and provide information for riders, clubs and the wider equestrian community.

Its services and resources include competition schedules, rules, judging information, education, youth activities, safety guidance and information about riding routes. The association also supports elite sport and Icelandic teams competing internationally, including promotion and sponsorship initiatives. Its governance includes an elected board, staff and committees, with elections held at a national congress every two years.

LH shares news and practical information through its website, alongside meeting records, maps and details about facilities such as Skógarhólar. It also collaborates with partners to highlight the Icelandic horse’s cultural, social and economic importance and to strengthen the future of horse-related activities in Iceland.
